The story behind our mission

Our founders envisioned BAE to be a positive and supportive learning community where everyone feels valued and accepted.

How it all started

Meet Barbara and Todd

In 2008, with Todd’s years in corporate finance and business leadership, he created the bedrock upon which BAE stands today. Todd’s unique skillset spans across systems of technology, business development, financial analytics, employment law, telecommunications, engineering, handiwork, and more.

Barbara is a licensed Psychologist and Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D) with over 25 years of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and clinical experience working with neurodiverse individuals. She specializes in autism diagnosis and treatment using cutting edge diagnostic tools and highly effective techniques within behavior therapy. Barbara brings compassion and high-quality care to families across Southern California and Las Vegas. She promotes healthy habits, balance, and self-care, and she employs a wide array of clinical applications to customize a unique journey for each of her clients and members of her team.

How we’ve grown through the years

Barbara and Todd’s vision flourished as BAE attracted like-minded professionals who have strengthened the BAE spirit. Together, we continue to be united by a shared mission: to make a meaningful, positive impact and to be a consistent source of encouragement, support and reinforcement for others.

How it started

BAE’s journey from then to now

A Strong Foundation

Todd, with his background in business and organizational structure, established BAE as a corporate entity and a non-public agency with the California Department of Education.
In the early days, Barbara was responsible for all services, including direct intervention, assessment, consultation, and supervision. Meanwhile, Todd handled all business needs, from contracting to financials, analytics, payroll, and office duties to support families.

EARLY GROWTH

In those first years, word-of-mouth expansion allowed BAE to grow. Todd and Barbara hand-selected a team of service providers who thrived under Barbara’s supervision and leadership. BAE became known for its collaborative, client-centered approach and its ability to foster positive environments and achieve effective outcomes.

Our Expansion

Within the first five years, BAE became a preferred provider for a growing number of school districts and the local Regional Center. The agency’s reputation for quality care and effective outcomes allowed it to expand further, but Todd and Barbara worked to maintain the close-knit, family-like culture that had been central to BAE’s success.

A Commitment to Community

As BAE matured, Todd and Barbara made it a priority to preserve the feeling of community and family for both their team members and the families they serve. The agency’s guiding principles promote compassion, collaboration, and ethical decision-making, ensuring that each person—client or team member—feels valued and supported.

Clinician owned and operated

BAE remains clinician-owned and operated, with a leadership style that is value-based and mission-oriented. Barbara continues to consult regularly with her team and stays closely involved in the day-to-day activities, maintaining direct connections with families and staff.
